2008 British Touring Car Championship season
The 2008 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship season was the 51st British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season. It was also the first that the championship is sponsored by HiQ. Fabrizio Giovanardi won his second consecutive title, with a non-scoring fourteenth place finish in round 28.

Mid-season changes
- BTC Racing switched to Seat Toledos from Donington onwards.
- Matt Allison left the series after Donington.
- Gareth Howell stood in for Stuart Oliver at Thruxton due to Oliver’s truck racing commitments. Howell also competed at Oulton Park
- Oliver left the series after Croft to concentrate on truck racing.
Other changes
- Dunlop is no longer the sponsor of the BTCC. HiQ are the new sponsors, although both brands share the same parent company.
Entry list
On March 12, 2008 the BTCC Organisers released the official MSA HiQ British Touring Car Championship entry list for the 2008 season.
- Team Halfords were neither a works or an independent entry.
Calendar
The 2008 season once again had ten race weekends with three BTCC rounds at each. A provisional calendar had been announced by series organisers.[1]
